Expensive Looks - Be My Own
New York-based psych-pop duo Expensive Looks use influences and style derived from mid-century garage, psychedelic, and house music to depict a hazy summer bedroom gaze. The muddled and catchy pop jams emerging from the group reverberate sensations and scents of summer soaked in sufficient amounts of codeine, emitting a sea-soaked sound perfect for a never-ending heat wave. “Be My Own”, a self-released single revealed by the band today, reflects memories of heart-racing house jams and Australian nudisco pop anthems to create a begging buildup and a sweat-infused release.
